Customer Codes

Energy Charter Customer Codes are voluntary commitments to better practice, co-designed with customers and industry. The purpose of our Customer Codes is to raise standards of practice, strengthen trust and confidence and deliver better outcomes for customers.

Customer Codes are independently administered and governed. A Customer Code Council (made up of key stakeholders including customer representatives) exists for each of the Customer Codes, with an independent chair, John Smith. Anne Whitehouse, CEO of Sales Assured Limited is the independent administrator of the Customer Codes.

Customer Codes also create an important community of practice to encourage insights sharing across signatories, expansion of networks and opportunities for collaboration. The Customer Code Councils regularly produce information for customers and signatories to improve outcomes.

Our Customer Codes

Customer Code for Energy Brokers, Consultants and Retailers aims to give large customers confidence that Signatories are working together in their best interests and delivering value to them.

Customer Code for Energy Comparators and Moving Services aims to give customers using these channels confidence that as Signatories, we are working together in their best interests and delivering value to them.

Customer Code Knock to Stay Connected is a nationally consistent, customer-led approach aimed at keeping customers connected to their energy.
